Doja Cat sexuality explained: She is bisexual

Doja Cat struggled to hold back tears as fans sang along with her at Austin City Limits in Texas. A viral TikTok video shows Cat turning her back to fans as she tries to regain her composure. After turning back, it becomes clear that she’s overwhelmed by her fans’ reaction to her music.

Cat’s sexually explicit lyrics have won her plenty of admirers and kept a steady stream of new fans. From her music, it can be tough to decipher Doja’s sexuality. We have done some digging to come up with a clear picture of Doja Cat’s sexuality.

Doja came out as bisexual after receiving criticism for past homophobic comments

Doja Cat uses Instagram Live to give details about her personal life. In one such session, Doja opened up about her bisexuality. In her usual explicit language, she said:

“I like both. I like dicks and I also like, um, I like people that I can have sex with. You can kind of have sex with anybody, right?”

Cat protested her ‘cancelation’ by the LGBTQ+ community despite being ‘gay’ herself. Cat had come under fire for past homophobic comments and didn’t offer a convincing apology. She wrote on Twitter:

“I called a couple people faggots when I was in high school in 2015 does this mean I don’t deserve support? I’ve said faggot roughly like 15 thousand times in my life. Does saying faggot mean you hate gay people? Do I hate gay people? I don’t think I hate gay people. Gay is ok.”

With her bisexual confession, Doja got back into the LGBTQ+ community’s good books.

Cat has been linked to both male and female celebrities

Doja Cat is single, but she has been linked to several male and female celebrities.

In October 2020, rapper French Montana and Cat sparked relationship rumors when fans spotted them vacationing together. Cat swiftly debunked the rumors via Twitter: “Me and French got a song coming out. Fucking relax.”

Almost a year later, UK artist Bree Runway fueled rumors of a relationship with Doja by posting two photos of Doja alongside the following caption: “My hot date @Dojacat.” Cat responded by tweeting: “I have a girlfriend and I’m going public @breerunway.”

The rumors died down as quickly as they started, as it seems like Doja and Bree were simply joking online.

A month later, Doja appeared on Lil Dicky’s reality show Dave, sparking rumors that the pair might be dating.

Doja Cat dated artist Johnny Utah for about a year before the pair broke up in 2020

Doja Cat saw Johnny Utah’s music video for Honeypie and hated the song. However, she loved how Johnny moved. “I don’t know,” Doja said alongside Johnny

“It was your pants. I was like, ‘Oh, I like your pants.’ I went to his YouTube video and [then] commented on his Instagram, and I was like, ‘I love you, baby.’”

Utah capitalized and sent Doja a hilarious DM saying: “Hey girl, I just showed this pic to my little cousin, and I told him that were together. Don’t make me look like a liar now. He looks up to me.”

Cat and Utah started dating shortly after. They had a public relationship that lasted about a year. In February 2020, Doja confirmed that the pair broke up on amicable terms:

“Everything’s fine. I’m okay, I unfollowed my ex-boyfriend on Twitter, and everything is okay. And we’ve been cool. There’s nothing weird going on. There’s no type of fucking drama or any weird shit going on. Shit just didn’t work out. It just wasn’t working at the moment that it is right now, and we just fucking moved on.”
